Kamau Coar

Kamau Coar is Counsel at Nixon Peabody, where he is a member of the firm’s labor and employment group, advising clients on all aspects of their people practices and policies.  Mr. Coar also serves as Co-Leader of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Services industry group, helping clients implement measurement, risk assessment and execution strategies for their DEI initiatives.  Prior to Nixon Peabody, Mr. Coar served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Inclusion Officer for Heidrick & Struggles, a professional services firm focused on executive search and leadership consulting with operations in 30+ countries and 50+ offices.  While at Heidrick & Struggles, Mr. Coar led the legal, compliance and DEI functions.  Prior to Heidrick & Struggles, Mr. Coar practiced employment law and worked as a commercial litigator in Chicago, IL.
