Emily Jones is a Michigan native, born in Grand Blanc. After relocating to the north side of Chicago, Illinois in 2008, Ms. Jones graduated from Von Steuben Metropolitan High School in 2018, continuing her studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In May of 2023, Ms. Jones graduated from UIUC with a double major in African American Studies and Psychology, as well as a minor in gender and women’s studies. Prior to joining the The HistoryMakers, Ms. Jones worked with The Hip Hop F.I.R.M, an organizational development consultation agency and BootBlack Productions towards the completion of the Oscar Brown Jr. Archive. Outside of her work within the academic  community, Emily Jones has a background which includes hospitality and customer relations.
