On Tuesday, February 27, 2001, The HistoryMakers hosted a free public event entitled Three Artists, Three Lives, Three Stories at the Claudia Cassidy Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center. Photographer Dawoud Bey, sculptor Richard Hunt and visual artist Allen Stringfellow shared personal stories of their careers, their artistic lives and what art means for them.
Three Artists, Three Lives, Three Stories was presented in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Illinois Humanities Council and the Chicago Cultural Center. The moderator for the event was Bill Campbell, producer and host of ABC-7’s Chicagoing.
