On November 15, 2001, The HistoryMakers honored their 2001 interviewees at this award ceremony. This ceremony and dinner were held in conjuction with An Evening with Dionne Warwick at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois. The Salute to The HistoryMakers occurred prior to the event. Julieanna Richardson, founder of The HistoryMakers, served as master of ceremonies. Darryl Dennard introduced the honorees.
