Meet The HistoryMakers: A Day of Education (Chicago 2006)

On February 23, 2006, The HistoryMakers hosted the fifth installment of its Meet The HistoryMakers: A Day of Education at the Merit School of Music in Chicago, Illinois. More than forty HistoryMakers participated in panel discussions for three hundred students and teachers. WVON held a live remote allowing attendees, HistoryMakers and students to talk directly to WVON listeners.  

Meet The HistoryMakers: A Day of Education was conceived as a day of seminars designed to expose public school teachers, librarians and students to the educational resources created by The HistoryMakers. Attendees experienced first person testimony from notable HistoryMakers, oral history workshops and training, computer labs and innovative and interactive curriculum.  Meet The HistoryMakers: A Day of Education was truly a unique educational opportunity.
